Photography from the simultaneous Reclaim Our Streets: Women’s Solidarity Marches

“Sexual violence is a pervasive issue in the region, particularly as rape culture continues to affect the perception of many, resulting in the trivialization of violence against women and girls.

This march is bringing women together, across countries, in acknowledgement of our shared struggle and commitment to ongoing collaboration and movement-building for the dignity, rights, and healing of the women and girls living in the Caribbean.

The event proved our ability to come together as a country to share, build, and support, and the regional solidarity is evidence of our potential, throughout the Caribbean, to organize across borders, develop replicable programs, and create our own platforms and solutions.”
